Trades

free stuff for me!

Occasionally, people send stuff back to me (that isn't money). Here's some of the things I got in return after I mailed out a free painting.

Another pittsburgh artist sent me a colorful square artwork. His name is Joe. MySpace made this meeting possible.
  Yep. Someone sent me booze.

A collage depicting some uneasy feelings about time. It was sent to me from Marty Gordon.

An artist named Carl Oxley III aka Popartmonkey made this trade with me. It's titled "Best Bunny Ever".

Coudal.com does what they call the "Swap Meat" where they accept anything in the mail from anyone and they'll mail back something in return. I sent them a painting of meat and they sent back all this stuff. The T-shirt says, "reading is good for you" and has a picture of a guy on the toilet. They also sent some buttons, a sticker, a custom deck of cards and some bubble gum.
A watercolor titled "North Dakota, Depression Era" by Robin Moore

This is somewhere in Germany. Sweet! Thanks Marco :)   Danger: This game is like crack. Play with care.

Riki Takaoka sent me these valentines cards. The medium is india ink and they're really lovely. His style is cute, delicate and bold all at the same time.   The Daughter Earth company gave me an art print of one of their t-shirt designs. You should check out their merchandise. They use all organic and earth-friendly techniques. Very cool.

Some prints from Natasha Guimond   Bryan Brinkman sent me a couple DVD's of his animations. It was a welcome diversion.

This little guy's name is Wenddell Feit.   A scan of a sketchbook page, a homemade valentine and a personalized envelope from L Winkler

A guy that works at iRobot sent me a roomba in return for a robot painting. How cool! And red is the perfect color.   100 cents worth of origami
I sent a painting to the Orangutan Outreach at redapes.org and in return, they made me the adoptive parent of these adorable orangutans! Their names are Lomon, Grendon, Fio and Kesi. I'm a proud parent.

J. L. Dale sent me a novella he wrote.   A guy sent me some books he thought would inspire me.

Tiffany Glass let me pick out paintings of hers that I liked. They are printed fabric stretched over wood and then painted over with white paint.   The girl who runs cupcakefetish.com traded me two dozen cupcakes for a painting of a robot with cupcakes. They were chocolate raspberry filled with either Nutella or mango preserves and topped with chocolate ganache. They were fabulous! I was a hero that day because I brought them for my co-workers to eat.

Erin McDonnell knitted me fingerless gloves based on my Robot Love painting! Unbelievably cool!   A clay artist sent me this little monster sculpture.

Amy Ray Som let me pick something I liked from her etsy shop, Dragon's Spark, in return for the tiger painting I made her. I chose this flowered cuff. It's hand beaded and very pretty. She made it to fit my exact wrist size!   I got these things in a thank you card. The kangaroo on the left is a single card from a game I don't recognize. It's quite curious and interesting. On the right is a couple of stickers featuring a blue octopus
